Evernote — Evernote Business Onboarding [2020]

For most SaaS companies, a solid onboarding email series is essential for customer retention. By introducing users to the key features of the app, progressive disclosure helps them feel supported and confident in their use of the product. For these emails, I partnered with marketing stakeholders to identify the most valuable actions, then crafted messaging to highlight them in a systematic, engaging way. Finally, I worked closely with a visual designer to bring them to life.

Glassdoor — "Hiring Made Easy"

This email campaign was aimed at users who had not been active on the site for the previous 12 months. The goal was to give them an incentive to reengage by highlighting the value provided by Glassdoor, and also to subtlely point out that the site had changed a lot since their last visit.

Perforce Software — "MERGE2016 Super Early Bird"

If you're asking a reader to make a commitment, whether it's time or money, there's no point in beating around the bush. Tell them what they should do and then explain why it's in their best interest to do it. In this case, the ask was for a conference registration. The hook? Act now and save money! The result? A sold-out conference.

Glassdoor — "Where Great People Find Great Companies"

The goal of this email was to introduce Glassdoor to people who may not have already heard of the company. In particular, the CTA was to download an introductory video. I achieved this by highlighting the value provided, ending with a clear, simple button that left no doubt.

Apcera — "What's Coming Up at DockerCon?"

One of my primary responsibilities for this client was the production of a biweekly email newsletter. From all the published content, including third-party news articles, I chose the most appealing and crafted a memorable summary. Like all social media content, the newsletter needed to be concise, entertaining, and invite the reader to click through and continue the engagement.

Glassdoor — "Why Glassdoor Matters"

Like a lot of the emails I've created for Glassdoor, this one is aimed at people who may not already be familiar with the company and its unique value proposition. This requires a softer touch, with more focus on explanation and providing an answer to the inevitable question: "What's in it for me?"
